Hazel Scott - Founder

Our Story

Hazel Scott is a highly qualified and very experienced teacher. Hazel became a qualified teacher with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing at the age of just 17yrs. She then went on to study at the London College of Dance and Drama where she was awarded the LCDD prestigious Teaching Diploma, she also attained high marks in all her Advanced Ballet, National, Modern and Tap dancing exams and teaching Associate Exams. Since leaving College she has gained her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Associate Diplomas and Royal Academy of Dance teaching certificate and is fully registered with the ISTD and RAD. She continues to attend teaching courses throughout each year to keep her knowledge current and up to date.

Hazel spent two years teaching Creative dance in schools for six to nine year olds, she has also taught at dancing schools in Hastings and Ashford. On returning home to Weymouth Hazel taught for her former Ballet teacher at the Dorchester Ballet Club, while building her own school in and around the Weymouth area, she also sang and danced in the Pearlies. Since starting the school in 1987 many former students have gained places some with scholarships at full time dance colleges and are now dancing or teaching in various places around the world.
